Student-to-Student Information Guide

The first day of school is always tough. A million different thoughts plague the mind: “What are my classes like? Who are my teachers? Will anyone call on me in class?”

As you plan for law school, a million different questions come to mind. First there are the practical questions: Where should I live? What is the area like? What’s St. Louis all about? Who do I call to have the cable/satellite  connected? What sorts of outdoor entertainment options are available? Where is the dry cleaner?

All of these are important questions. As you plan the next three to five years, it’s important to know the answers. That’s why the Office of Admissions is providing you with an information reference guide created by a group of current School of Law students designed with you in mind. In the Student-to-Student Information Guide, our law students have answered the things they would’ve liked to have known before they came to the School of Law. We think it may be one of your most useful law school aides — second only to your books, of course.

There are three parts to this guide:

Veni (i came) Click for PDF
Practical relocation information about neighborhoods, stores, utilities, etc.

Vidi (i saw) Click for PDF
Information about what there is to see and do including arts and entertainment, pubs and clubs, sports and recreation along with a listing of nearby restaurants.

Vici (i conquered) Click for PDF
General information about the University, the School of Law, and advice from other students on what to expect during the first year of law school.

This is a work in progress and will grow with future years. The guide is still being designed, but we are providing you the first installment because we know this information will be helpful as you prepare for law school. We will add more as we finish the other installments. For now, we hope that this helps you begin the process of becoming a student at the School of Law.
