Mandatory Fees

Recreation Fee
Passed by Student Government for expansion and improvement of the Simon Recreation Center – this fee is not for the use of the gym. Use of the Simon Recreation Center is included in tuition. The recreation fee was implemented by the student body.

Technology Fee
This fee covers the implementation of wireless Internet access campus-wide. This fee was implemented by the University.

Union Fee
This fee covers the construction of Busch Student Center, not just the use of the Student Center.

Student Activity Fee (Students Living Off Campus)
This fee goes toward Student Government, all activities on campus, and school-sponsored alliances. This fee was implemented by the student body.

Student Activity Fee (Students Living On Campus)
This fee goes toward Student Government, all activities on campus, and school-sponsored alliances. It also covers the shuttle that takes students living on campus to Target, Schnucks, etc. This was implemented by the student body.

Readership Fee
This fee enables any student at SLU access to USA Today, The New York Times and the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Monday through Friday during the academic year. Newspaper dispensers will be located in various locations throughout the Frost and Health Science Center Campuses. This fee is charged to both undergraduate and graduate students. This was student-implemented.

Graduation Fee (charged during last semester of degree program)
This fee covers expenses directly related to graduation, including the compiling of student records, graduation activities and diploma. This fee does not cover the cost of cap and gown. This fee is mandatory regardless of participation in graduation activities.
