John Gyles Education Awards

Open to students will full Canadian or American citizenship and awards are available to both male and female students in all areas of post secondary study. A minimum GPA of 2.7 is required. Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund

Grant is to support the education of women from developing countries who are committed to improving the lives of women and children in their home countries. Women must have a record of service to women/children in their country, reside in the U.S. at the time of application and plans to return to her country in about 2 years. Student must be enrolled in an accredited institution in the US by September 2007 and during the entire period covered by grant and use the grant to continue to the study of her degree. Student must be a national of a developing country (see list on web) and be at least 25 years of age by December 31, 2006 and not a U.S. Green Card holder. See web site for application. Mongolia Society/Dr. Gombojab Hangin Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a student of Mongolian heritage, defined as an individual of Mongolian ethnic origin, who has permanent residency in Mongolia, the People's Republic of China, or the former Soviet Union to pursue studies in the United States. Each applicant must individually request the application in English and the scholarship application form must be returned in written English, accompanied by a photocopy of the applicant's ID card and passport, complete with photograph and curriculum vitae along with any letters of recommendation. The award does not include transportation from the recipient's country nor does it include room and board at the university. The recipient will receive the scholarship in one lump sum after full-time enrollment in the institution of study. Applications can be requested by mail or e-mail. Award: $2,400.

P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund

An applicant must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study, working toward a graduate degree in a college or university in the United States or Canada. A student holing citizenship or permanent residency of the United States or Canada is ineligible. Scholarships are not given for research, internships, practical training or travel. In order to qualify, an applicant must have a full year of coursework remaining and be enrolled on campus for the entire school year. Sons of Norway Foundation/King Olav V Norwegian-American

Any American, 18 years of age or older, who has demonstrated a keen and sincere interest in the Norwegian heritage and/or any Norwegian who has demonstrated an interest in American heritage, and who know desires to further the study of their heritages at recognized educational institution is eligible to apply. Applicants must submit application, an essay setting forth in 500 words or less, their reasons for applying for a scholarship/grant, the course of study to be pursued, the length of the course, the institution which the applicant will attend and the amount of financial assistance desired. Applicants should also state how their course of study will benefit their community and be in accord with the goals and objectives of the Sons of Norway Foundation. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. National Education Foundation/Deborah Partridge Wolfe International Fellowship

Available to graduate United States students studying abroad and/or graduate foreign students studying within the United States. Awarded for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Documented proof of academic study and plan of program must be sent to the Scholarship Chairperson with signature of school administrator or Program Director. All applications must be accompanied by 3 letters of recommendation by: 1. College professor or high school teacher; 2. Minister or community leader and 3. Other. University transcripts must be sent.
