Veteran’s Law Student Organization

Our mission is to educate and inform interested student body regarding veteran’s legal issues and to provide a forum for those interested in veteran’s law. Also, to create opportunities and establish contacts for anyone interested in working in veteran’s law after graduation.

MEMBERSHIP: Open to all. Just ask and you’re in.
FEES: NONE.

OFFICERS:

President: Carla Gail Tolbert
Duties:
1. Preside over meetings.
2. Call special meetings when necessary.
3. Contact guest speakers and delegate tasks as necessary.
4. Represent the organization externally when necessary.

Vice-President: Salim Elias Awad
Duties:
1. Assist in the performance of the President's duties.
2. Assume the duties of the President when the President is absent.

Secretary: Vera Redkina
Duties:
1. Keep a record of all meetings.
2. Be the official custodian of all books, papers, and documents.
3. Assume other duties as assigned by the President or Vice-President.

Treasurer: Brett W. Buchanan
Duties:
1. Keep a record of all finances.
2. Maintain a financial statement and be prepared to submit upon request.
3. Assume other duties as assigned by the President or Vice-President.

Faculty Advisor: Prof. Sue McGraugh

ELECTIONS:

Elections will be held the first week in February for the following school year. All members vote.

MEETINGS:

Meetings will be held the first week of every month. Additional meetings can be called as necessary. Communications will be maintained in the interim via e-mail.

ADOPTION:

Any member can make a recommendation. The President decides what recommendations will be brought for vote. All members present will be given an opportunity to comment on the recommendation. All members present will vote. A simple majority passes any recommendation.
